The OSU Research Winery is a fully operational, OLCC-licensed winery located in Withycombe Hall on Oregon State University’s Corvallis campus. The winery is an experiential learning facility that supports enology & viticulture research, hands-on student training, and industry-relevant outreach as part of Oregon State’s broader research and outreach mission.
Collaborative research
The facility is managed as a shared research resource and supports projects led by faculty in Food Science and Technology, Horticulture, Botany and Plant Pathology, Applied Economics, and collaborating partners, including USDA-ARS scientists.
Recent renovations and expansion
Over the past three years, the OSU Research & Teaching Winery underwent a significant renovation and expansion. The upgraded winery became fully operational in time for Harvest 2025 and substantially expanded OSU’s research and teaching capacity.
The renovated facility includes:
- Small-scale research fermenters with automated temperature control and advanced monitoring systems
- Wine sensory analysis facility
- A dedicated, state-of-the-art analytical laboratory
- New grape and wine processing equipment
